Liberals Waging War! (Again)
A reprint of my post to the Charles M. Blow(hard) Facebook page, addressed to another gun-grabbing zealot. So let's Cut to the Chase!
The framers of our Bill of Rights knew all too well the
dangers of tyranny and death from the very government charged with the
responsibility of protecting us, as well as those from outside our borders.
After making minced meat of Pear
Harbor late in 1941, the Japanese navy was quite
capable of descending like locusts onto our West Coast, but chose not to
because, as one of their admirals had put it, “...we'd be facing a gun behind
every rock”. The 2nd Amendment is the only reason why untold scores of marine
landing craft and paratroopers from the Empire didn't storm California ,
Oregon and Washington
to stage a stateside version of the Bataan Death March right here on US
soil.
Incidentally, that must be quite an awkward
position for today's Liberals: to wage war against virtually anybody who isn't one, including threatening to murder white people and NRA members (or celebrate with a cheese pizza from CiCi’s every time
someone else does), and then actually have the guts to demand our guns. Um hm...sure...yeah...try
again, Scooter!
True (and I’ve never said this before so it’s a major stretch
for me), even I’ll admit there are things sold in gun stores that we could
probably do without. And yet, a question please:
Keeping in mind all these high profile --- and quite wealthy --- celebrities from the news and entertainment media, and of course government itself, do you really think that whatever arbitrary, in-your-face, across-the-board firearms ban is inflicted on us, would actually apply to any of them? Do you really think anyone (on the Left at least) is going to question, say, a Kevin Costner or a George Clooney or a Piers Morgan --- or anyone else who shares their celebrity status --- no matter what kind of gun law is passed?
For those who think not, the line forms on the right. Better bring a change of clothes and a sandwich, 'cause it's gonna be a long one. js
